Set in the southern United States, in the midst of the Depression. Paul Edgecomb is a prison officer charged with guarding the Green Mile, a hallway that separates cells from inmates sentenced to the electric chair. John Coffey, a gigantic black man accused of brutally murdering two nine-year-old sisters, is awaiting their impending execution. Behind a naive and childish personality, Coffey hides a prodigious supernatural gift. When the opportunity arises to put it into practice, Edgecomb will learn that miracles exist, even in the most unsuspected place.
